Can I take the AI Literacy Challenge without coding?
Yes. AI literacy is broader than coding. Research, workshops, policy analysis, community outreach, communications and responsible-AI projects can all help people understand, question and navigate AI.
What could I make?
You could research community needs, run a workshop, create multilingual explainers, review learning resources or develop a guide to privacy and deepfakes. A useful project starts with who you want to help.
How do I take part and submit?
Open the Challenge in your YouCount Challenge Cart to get started, then return there to submit your project and actual community-service hours. Submit by January 8, 2027 for National Award consideration, or through March 31, 2027 for service recognition and potential showcase.
Do I need project funding?
Funding is optional and separate from participation and awards. Eligible youth ages 12–30 who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or refugees can apply for up to $500 in need-based project support.
